On Monday June 18th Foy’s Arcade had the privilege of hosting the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO) in our space. The workshop aimed to provide company wide updates from top level management to each department and to give employees the opportunity to ask questions, get to know each other and have fun.
The morning began with an Acknowledgement of Country by VACCHO’s fantastic MC for the day, Jesse. Jesse provided banter and great tunes throughout the day as well as an introduction to the guest speakers during the workshop. Erin and the team at Foy’s Arcade also provided an interactive tour of the space.
Speakers included VACCHO’s CEO, superannuation organisation HESTA, and Brett Leavy, the Creative Director for Bilbie Virtual Lab. Brett introduced and demonstrated his interactive game – Virtual Songlines River Yarns. Foy’s is proud to be one of the homes of the cultural quest-driven, historically accurate virtual day-in-the-life of the traditional landowners.
We had a truly inspiring day with VACCHO and hope to be able to host them again soon!
