ISPT were thrilled to welcome the official launch of Yarra Trams Accessibility Action Plan (AAP) 2022 – 2024 at Foy’s Arcade!
The Yarra Trams team laid out the vision for improving the accessibility of tram services and public transport across the board all around Melbourne.

The event was a great opportunity for members to meet and greet one another, and highlighted important challenges passengers with disabilities deal with. Improving accessibility, for passengers, making a difference for the community and working with partners and stakeholders, were the main focus of the event.
The event also looked at ground breaking initiatives, such as the Navilens Accessible Passenger Information Initiative. This revolutionary technology involving accessible QR Codes, enables the vision impaired to better navigate their day via public transport, providing services such as real-time tram arrivals, route and tram numbers and will be available in no less than 33 languages.

The Disability Confident Recruiter Initiative covered a wide range of new and exciting support products and projects that will greatly benefit those in our community that face everyday challenges, many of which we never even think of.
We can’t wait to have more of these accessibility focussed events at Foy’s, especially when we get to meet more hard working support dogs!
